2018 Caribe Owner’s Association Annual Meeting

Dear Caribe Resort Owners:

Please be advised that the sixteenth annual Caribe Resort Condo Owners Association (COA) meeting will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at 1:00 pm, at Caribe Resort Building D, Suite 100, 28107 Perdido Beach Blvd in Orange Beach.

Soon, you will be receiving a special package in the mail. Enclosed you will find a Proxy for your vote, should you not be able to attend. For a copy of the 2018 proxy, please click here. It is necessary that we receive your proxy by Tuesday, February 13, 2018, should you not be able to attend. You may fax your proxy to 251.980.9035 or email it to aboyington@cariberesort.com, cpowell@cariberesort.com, or adilling@cariberesort.com.

The major topic at the meeting will be the 2018 budget update and a vote for a vacant position on the board. If you are interested in running for the board, please fill out the short questionnaire here. The submission deadline for applications is Tuesday, February 13, 2018.

Phone System Update- Friday Morning, April 27, 2018

Dear Caribe Resort Owners,

Please be advised that between the hours of 12 am and 4 am Friday morning, April 27, 2018, we will be undergoing an update to our phone system. Service, including emergency calls, may be offline for a brief fifteen minute period during this time. Security will be heightened during this time, so please dial 9-1-1 or our security line at 251-980-9080 from your cell phone depending on the emergency situation.

Hiper-Web Workforce Management Software

On behalf of the Caribe Owner’s Association, Caribe Realty has been working tirelessly on creating software for workforce management to better protect the investment of our owners. This software will assist in the billing process, track work orders, and track the time our staff is in your unit. This software would come into play should we have a water leak, exterior maintenance repairs, or in the event of a hurricane. Soon, we will be installing QR stickers on every unit’s door frame. The stickers will not be visible unless the entry door is open.

Reminder- LSU / Alabama Football Game- THIS SATURDAY

 Saturday, November 4th

Time: 7pm

The Caribe Resort would like to invite all owners, guests, and employees to the bi-annual rivalry game between LSU and Alabama hosted by our Louisianan owners.

The event is potluck-style and BYOB as you cheer on your favorite team. Some of the best Cajun food you’ve ever tasted will be provided by the Louisianan owners!

There will be TVs on all day to capture every second of this rivalry.

The party starts at 5 & the game starts at 7!

Tropical Storm Nate Update

On behalf of the COA, the Caribe Realty staff is finishing up preparations for incoming Tropical Storm/ potential Hurricane Nate. Effective Saturday, October 6, 2017, all outdoor amenities including pools, slides, and putting greens will be shut down until the storm passes.

If you are occupying your unit this weekend, we ask that you ensure your patio furniture is inside your unit by mid-day Saturday. Additionally, please move your vehicles from the lower parking levels and park in un-numbered spots on the upper parking decks.

Tropical Update

Caribe is closely monitoring the tropical system aiming towards the Gulf of Mexico. It appears this system is quick-moving and is developing rapidly. The COA is in the preliminary stages of planning to pull in balcony furniture if in fact we see land fall in close proximity to the resort.
For up-to-date information on the potential system and our preparations for it, our Hurricane Hotline will be live beginning at noon on Thursday, October 5, 2017. The hotline number is 251-980-9098 or dial 22980 from your unit phone.

Hurricanes Harvey & Irma Update

We are happy to report that Hurricanes Harvey and Irma did not cause damage to the property. Harvey brought us a little rain, and Irma brought some good wind gusts. Thankfully, though, we were spared from serious damage from both storms. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those in our neighboring states that were affected.

Hurricane Procedures

Caribe Realty is closely monitoring the now Category 5 Hurricane Irma in the Atlantic Ocean. It may be a few days still until we get a completely accurate path for Hurricane Irma. However, for future reference, all hurricane procedures will be handled in the way mentioned below.

Should a hurricane appear to be headed towards our area, Caribe Realty will make sure that the buildings are secure. We will bring your balcony furniture inside your unit to get it off of your balcony and ensure that your unit is locked. There is no need for you to come to the area to do so.

Please note: These events will occur after the board determines the need and votes to begin doing so.

You should have already received Hurricane passes for your unit in May. If you have not, please contact me or Cindy with COA Accounting at 251-980-9057.
