Tropical Storm Cindy

Thankfully, Tropical Storm Cindy did not cause damage to the property. We were spared from the majority of the flooding rains and high winds. It has been a very rainy June here at the Caribe Resort. Finally, the sun is out, and we are excited for the usual warm and sunny summer weather trend to begin.

As the busy season begins to pick up in the upcoming weeks, please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions, comments, or concerns. To report a problem, please click here.

Glass Top Table Reminder

We have had a couple of very stormy days this week here in Orange Beach, AL. As a result, there have been some pieces of furniture from cushions to glass top tables fly off the balcony.

As you have previously been made aware, glass top tables on balconies are prohibited. While most have already been replaced, we sustained damage this week from glass top tables flying off the balcony. This poses a serious threat of injury to property and the safety of guests and residents. As a reminder per the notice on August 31, 2016: If you are caught, a fine of $500 will be enforced in addition to any damage and clean-up costs incurred. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. If there is any way that I can assist you in switching your tables, please let me know!

Thank You.

Television Upgrades

Television trends today are pointing towards sleeker, thinner, and larger televisions. Smart TVs with Wi-Fi capabilities are all the rage as many are pulling away from direct cable connections. In the past, when we recommended a television that was compatible with our system, we would suggest Vizio, LG, Samsung, Sharp, or Sony. It has come to our attention that Walmart and other department stores are beginning to only carry Vizio 4k Smart TVs that do not include tuners. This essentially means that your new TV may not directly connect to our cable network. We do have cable boxes available and optional DVR systems for purchase that will allow you to use the tuner-less TV’s on our system, but this will be a $100 charge per TV (Quotes available for DVR systems) from our IT department. We recommend simply purchasing a TV which specifically states it includes a QAM tuner for your new television in your unit.

If you have questions about whether or not your TV is compatible, please feel free to email me at adilling@cariberesort.com with the brand and model number of the TV.

Bedzzz Express

Is your bed “smiling” at you when you walk into the bedroom? Does it feel like you’re sleeping on a bed of rocks? If you’re thinking about investing in a new mattress, look no further than Bedzzz Express. The spring and summer season is coming quickly, so why not surprise your guests with a comfortable new mattress for them to sleep on?

Caribe has partnered with Bedzzz Express to offer top quality mattresses at a reasonable price. Feel free to visit their website here. Lisa is the local sales rep and will be able to offer advice on new mattresses for your unit and even your home.

Glass Top Tables

As you have previously been made aware, glass top tables on balconies are prohibited. While most have already been replaced, we have sustained damage to the property from glass tables blowing off of balconies onto pool decks and parking lots. This poses a serious threat of injury to property and the safety of guests and residents. If you are caught, a fine of $500 will be enforced in addition to any damage and clean up costs incurred. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

There are many of alternative choices and Angela Dilling in our office will be more than happy to assist if you have any questions. 251-980-9057.

Owner’s Payment Books

fyi noteMarch 1, 2016

Dear Caribe Owner,

On February 20, 2016 the annual Caribe Owners Association meeting was held.
During that meeting a quorum was met and business was able to be conducted. Several items were approved as per the agenda. The resolution to amend the condo docs to restrict glass and ceramic table tops was approved. We understand the time needed to change these out, but we ask this be done at your earliest convenience.

Secondly, the 2016 budget was approved which also included a dues increase for all units. This dues increase averaged $100.00 per month per unit. Please note that all units both residential and commercial are charged based on interior square footage. This, of course, means smaller square foot units will see an increase of under $100.00 and larger units will see an increase over $100.00 per month.

Included with this letter is the new payment book. We realize these changes happened at the end of the February making difficult to notify those who were not in attendance.

If you have any questions, please call Angela Dilling in Accounting at 251.980.9057.

Thank you,
Stan Szapiel, General Manager
